Residential Front and Rear Garden, Chalfont St Peter

Following an extensive house refurbishment, we tackled this garden in multiple stages.

The first stage was to create a beautiful, contemporary entertaining space across the back of the house.

The house is at an angle to the garden, so we created an angled terrace and angled central planting bed to draw the eye down towards the end of the garden, rather than the side hedge. This also created more interesting shapes on the terrace.

The central planting bed, with Acer Aconitifolium and seasonal planting creates a focal point from the large picture windows in the kitchen and creates separate spaces for relaxing and dining on the terrace.

The second stage was the front garden. This was a blank canvas following the building work. We created a new pedestrian entrance pathway through an avenue of trees which add pretty white blossom in Spring, vibrant green leaves in the Summer and Autumn colour and fruit later in the year. A generous planting bed separates the parking area from the lawn, adding to the seasonality of the planting.

The final stage was the new Entertainment zone at the end of the garden. An unloved space was transformed into a new enticing space with a swimming pool and an area for sun loungers. A series of oak archways leads the eye down the garden, and a new oak pergola provides shelter for the seating area.
