Latchmoor Way, Chalfont St Peter

The clients asked for a complete refresh of both the front and rear gardens at their property in Chalfont St Peter.

At the front, the existing driveway was prone to flooding, the shrubs were overgrown, and the lawn was tired and neglected. At the rear, there was a small, impractical terrace squeezed close to the house, very limited planting, and a large, unused gazebo that dominated the space.

In the back garden, we reimagined the layout to create a series of distinct zones: a calm dining terrace framed by seasonal planting; a sunken seating area with comfortable armchairs and a fire pit for long summer evenings; and screening using Magnolia grandiflora trained on frames to discreetly hide the trampoline. The lawn was also renewed to provide space for ball games. The result is a garden the whole family can enjoy, drawing them outdoors throughout the year.

At the front, we replaced the old driveway and neglected lawn with a new gravel driveway, solving the drainage issues and creating extra parking. The overgrown shrubs were removed and replaced with generous perennial planting in warm tones of orange, apricot, and yellow, giving the house great year-round kerb appeal.

"Jenny listened carefully to how we hoped to use the garden and designed us a beautiful back garden with clearly defined areas for dining, lounging and of course football and trampolining! Planting beds were cleverly inserted to break up the different areas and the seating area was sunken so that we can enjoy the plants at eye level. Jenny works closely with an amazing landscaper and she personally oversaw all of the heavy lifting, visiting the site regularly during the six week reno. She also recommended an excellent gardener who helps us to maintain the garden. This one-stop shop from design, through install and to ongoing maintenance makes everything so easy and clearly reflects Jenny’s pride in her work, keeping the garden as it deserves to be.
