Nightingales Lane, Little Chalfont

Residential Rear Garden, Little Chalfont

After an extensive refurbishment, this stunning property deserved a garden to match.
The south-facing terrace offered the perfect opportunity to evoke a Mediterranean atmosphere. Olive trees and a gravel garden help define the space, creating a natural separation between the dining area and the more relaxed seating zone. These distinct “garden rooms” are wrapped in greenery, softening the structure of the hard landscaping.

Along the terrace’s outer edge, a deep herbaceous border provides evolving views throughout the seasons. A harmonious palette of whites, purples, blues, and pinks weaves rhythm and continuity through the planting, while ornamental grasses introduce gentle movement and texture.

The existing swimming pool was also refreshed and seamlessly connected to the terrace. Surrounding planting gives the pool area a lush, tropical character, with space for sunbathing that adds a holiday-like feel to the garden.
